There are many ways to describe Joyful Sounds Unlimited-The Imaginarium for the Performing Arts along with its founder.  Unique, talented, and charismatic just seem to scratch the surface. However, there are two words that ties them all together and is true to their character: Joyful Sounds Unlimited-The Imaginarium for the Performing Arts is birthed from passion and calling. Darlene was made for the Performing Arts.  She was drawn to piano and voice at a young age.  She took private lessons from what she called 'the greats' of her time.  Virgie Compton, C.J. Richardson Music School, Mittie Kelley, her Junior High School choir director who taught her privately and coached her in UIL competitions winning 1rst place awards in solo and ensemble competitions.  Darlene went on to audition for the High School for the Performing and Visual Arts Vocal department and was accepted.  She studied with the great Pat Bonner and she attributes HSPVA for major development and education in her craft.  Darlene was introduced to stage plays and theatre.  She trained and performed stage theatre with Theater Under The stars in Houston, Texas.  She Majored in Music Education at Sam Houston State University taking private voice lessons from the great Barbara Corbin.  Darlene has a rich education and experience in music and the performing arts. Darlene desires to take her passion for the arts and offer to students of the arts with like passion an opportunity to develop and grow in their area of interest in the arts.  Every experience has shaped Darlene into the awesome talent and educator she is and she desires to provide experiences for those who are passionate about the arts that will shape their futures and destiny in a positive way; giving them the tools and coaching needed to enable them to be excellent in their craft. Joyful Sounds Unlimited-The Imaginarium for the Performing Arts is Darlene's way to give back and to help shape and give direction to artist. Take a look around the site, and explore what the gift of the arts truly is.
